Meet the Midwife

Chloe Raum, LM, CPM-TN ~ As a Christian, I believe that children are a blessing from the Lord. I see pregnancy and childbirth as normal life processes that unfold optimally within the Midwives Model of Care. Pregnancy is also a transformational time of personal growth in a woman’s life. As a midwife, my goal is to provide information, encouragement, and support to families as they transition through pregnancy, childbirth and incorporating a new child into their lives. The practices of informed disclosure and shared decision-making are a cornerstone of the care I strive to provide to my clients.
I was raised in Huntsville, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama-Huntsville where I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. After several years in the software development field, our first child was born and I began my journey into motherhood and midwifery. My husband and I have been married since 1997 and have four children who were all born at home in the states of Alabama, Tennessee, and Hawaii.
In January, 2019, the Alabama State Board of Midwifery began issuing licenses to midwives to serve in community births in Alabama. I am currently licensed to practice in the states of Alabama and Tennessee. I am a member of the Alabama Midwives Alliance (ALMA) and the Tennessee Midwives Association (TMA). As part of my ongoing professional development, I participate in regular peer review, continuing education, and have earned the following credentials or certifications.
